NEOBUS SUPPLIES 30 NEW MEGA URBAN BUSES FOR CAMPOS GERAIS, IN PARANÁ

Company expands its presence in one of the most important Brazilian markets

By the end of this year, NEOBUS will have supplied 30 New MEGA urban buses to Viação Campos Gerais from Ponta Grossa, in the State of Paraná. The vehicles will be used for public transport from January 2019 onwards.

NEOBUS has expanded its presence in Paraná, one of the most important and advanced Brazilian markets. "Since the end of last year, the brand has adopted a new strategy focused on the development and production of urban and micro models. In 2018, we grew, we increased our market share and we launched two new vehicles. The urban New MEGA has had an excellent penetration in several cities of states such as Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul, among others," emphasizes João Paulo Ledur, director of NEOBUS.

The 30 new MEGA developed for Viação Campos Gerais feature Mercedes-Benz OF 1721L chassis and are 12,565mm length with passenger capacity for up to 35 seated passengers, accessibility for wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility (two boxes). For greater safety, part of the new fleet has monitoring system with four cameras and image recorder.

Internally, the NEOBUS New MEGA of Viação Campos Gerais have waterproof upholstery for easy cleaning and maintenance, aluminium flooring and LED lighting. The units also have LED destination display with different dimensions for better visibility before boarding.

Designed to provide the ultimate experience for passengers, drivers and fleet owners, the New MEGA features clean, lightweight design. The model stands out for offering more comfort and convenience for users, in addition to easy access for maintenance interventions with equipment and handling instruments. It also features more legroom for the driver, as well as an ergonomic console, reducing physical exhaustion and allowing the driver to increase focus. Fleet owners have the advantage of offering what is most advanced within the segment. Luciano Rasera Gulin, Operational Director of VCG, says that the purpose of the concessionaire is the constant evolution regarding the replacement of the fleet. "We researched in the market what is best in terms of technology in the supply of this type of product," he explains. He reinforces that they have been partners of NEOBUS for a few years and the common goal is to evolve the shape of  bus bodies to meet the needs of passengers and the company.

Viação Campos Gerais

 Viação Campos Gerais is a traditional name in the segment of passenger transportation. The operator started in 1927 and its first line - from the city center to the Uvaranas neighborhood - began operating in the following year. At the time, the company was called Auto Viação Pontagrossense. In 1964, it changed its corporate name to Viação Campos Gerais. Today, its fleet has 217 buses and 99 lines, which carry an average of 85,000 people a day.
