Use a clean sponge or piece of cloth.

Do not use stainless steel sponges, hard bristle brushes, rough or dirty materials with sand or earth;

Use only mild soap and water (lens). Do not use alcohol-based substances, bleaches, solvents or any other product with abrasives as they may damage the plastic materials of the headlight.

Never touch the "mirrored" areas of the headlamp as it may cause staining due to the presence of grease, sweat and acidity that are naturally present in  hands and the performance of the headlight will be impaired.

We recommend that you do not wash them with pressured water (high pressure device) on the back of the headlights, where the bulbs and rubber protectors are located. If it is unavoidable, protect the rubber shields, sockets and breather (eg with a plastic) to prevent unwanted water from entering the headlight.

Never run the engine using a battery charger, this will damage the electronic components.

Observe the periods indicated in this manual, tighten the fixing bolts and nuts of the various supports and body components.

The torque of the bolts and nuts of the main items are indicated in the tightening table. The bolts, nuts, clamps and connections not listed in the table,  should be checked and, if necessary, tightened.

NOTE: The wheel bolts should be retightened after the first 30 km, and then as indicated in the chassis manufacturer's manual.

1- Remove stains from the floor or inner lining with a damp cloth and detergent or mild soap.

2- Use water and neutral soap to clean upholstery and luggage rack with plastic or fabric lining. Never use petrol based cleaners for this.

3-  For removing chewing gum from the upholstery or carpets, scrape them and apply use benzine or kerosene, then use water and neutral soap.

4- Clean the rest of the vehicle interior with a damp cloth and vacuum cleaner, and do not spray with water.

NOTE: For lubrication of the items that indicate grease as a lubricant, it is recommended to use calcium or lithium based grease with high adhesion to the metal surfaces, which allows the lubricant to remain in the application points.

Recommended Brands:

TEXACO MORFACK MP2 (lithium-based)

IPIRANGA ISA-FAX (calcium base)

IPIRANGA ISA-CASSI 2 (calcium base)

The greases indicated above also have a check function. If the above recommended marks are not available, use only greases with similar characteristics  to those indicated.

The engine of a vehicle with the battery discharged can be set in motion with the aid of jumper cables by transferring energy from the battery of another vehicle.

This should be done with care and following the instructions given below.

CAUTION: Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the vehicle and personal injury resulting from the battery explosion as well as the electrical installation.

Perform the operations in the indicated sequence:

1- Make sure the auxiliary battery for starting and the battery of the vehicle have the same voltage.

2- During the start-up operation, do not stand near the battery.

3- With the auxiliary battery installed in another vehicle, do not let the vehicles touch each other.

4- Check that the jumper cables do not have loose or missing insulation.

5- Do not allow the cable lugs to come in contact with each other or with metal parts of vehicles.

6- Turn off the ignition and all electrical circuits that do not need to stay on.

NOTE: If turned on, the radio may be badly damaged. Repairs will not be covered under warranty.

7- Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on the batteries.

8- Connect the cables in the indicated sequence: + with +: positive pole of the auxiliary battery with the positive pole of the discharged battery.

- with -: negative pole of the auxiliary battery with the negative pole of the discharged battery.

9- Start the engine of the vehicle with the battery discharged. If the engine fails to start after a few attempts, repairs will probably be required.

10- To disconnect the cables, proceed in exactly the reverse order of the connection.

NOTE: The engine of the vehicle providing the auxiliary starter must remain in operation during start-up.

1- Windows should  be cleaned with alcohol or ammonia-based products. In the absence of these, soap-based water may be used for rubbing the windows with a flannel until clean.

2- Clean the window tracks with a brush after applying a little industrial talc or graphite powder.

3- Clean the rubber sealings using a cloth soaked in liquid silicone or a liquid composed of equal parts of alcohol and glycerin.

The following recommendations serve to prevent damage resulting from the environmental influences on the vehicle.

Exterior cleaning - vehicle painting

The maintenance of the body painting consists of washing and polishing, whose frequency depends on the use conditions of the vehicle.

The following instructions are designed to conserve and prolong the paint quality of the bodywork.

The washing process can be done in two ways:

Manual and automatic,  the stages of these processes are very similar and they are very important:

1- Pre-Wash

2- Application of shampoo

3- Brushing

4- Rinse

General considerations

There are some general cautions that should be observed when washing the body:

Do not wash the body under the sun

Do not wash the bus body if it is hot, as abrupt cooling of the bus body plates can cause a very rapid retraction of the film, causing cracks in the paint

Use solid free water to avoid scratching the paint

In the case of washing water reuse it is necessary to remove solids with the use of filters

Use water and special shampoos for bus body wash with neutral pH (between 6.5 and 7.5); you can check the pH using a potentiometer or even universal indicator paper.

It is recommended to use shampoo with silicone to enhance the gloss of the paint

It is recommended to polish with silicone wax every 6 months

1-Pre-Wash

It consists of the application of a jet of water throughout the body, strong enough to remove dirt (dust, sand grains), which may, in the brushing stage, damage the paint.

2- and 3- Application of shampoo and brushing

After removing the dirt, you should apply the cleaning shampoo (liquid or foam) with the subsequent brushing of the entire body of the vehicle. The brushing can be manual or automatic.

In the manual process is fundamental to wash the ceiling, which is a place of accumulation of dirt (physical wear of the painting - erosion). Another risk is in aggressive environments (very high pollution levels), which have airborne sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides dispersed in the air (it reacts with air humidity and rainwater resulting in the phenomenon known as acid rain ).

To avoid paint hazards, body brushing bristles should be soft or sponge brooms should be used.

In the automatic process is fundamental the maintenance and conservation of the washing equipment.

If there is no periodic check on the geometry of the equipment, excessive roll pressure may occur on the bus body causing scratches on both the body and the vehicle windows; the opposite may also occur, i.e. if the rollers do not exert the minimal pressure on the body, the wash is compromised.

If the bristles of the rollers are impregnated with dirt, they can wear out, greatly reducing their efficiency, as well as scratching the paintwork on the bodywork.

4- Rinse

Finally after brushing, the body is rinsed with water (jet wash for manual rinsing), removing excess shampoo. The body can be dried with an air jet.

Special Recommendations

Bird droppings should be cleaned immediately with neutral shampoo and water in abundance, as their acidity is quite aggressive to paint.

For tar removal, asphalt spatters and oil nodes attached to the paint, Dupont Cleaning Solvent I11252002 or kerosene or turpentine should be applied immediately afterwards with neutral shampoo and plenty of water, after it should be polished.

Minor damages such as stone beats, deep scratches, etc., must be immediately repaired in order not to compromise the painting.

Insects adhered to the body should be cleaned with neutral shampoo and warm water.

The same procedure is done when the paint becomes stained due to the deposition of vegetable resins of trees.

To avoid damage to the electronic components of the electrical installation, do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running.

Never start the engine while the battery is switched off. When charging the battery disconnect it from the vehicle. Disconnect the negative cable first and then the positive cable. Be careful not to swap the position of the cables.

When reconnecting, first install the positive cable and then the negative cable.

1- Wash the vehicle periodically and keep it in a covered place.

2- If the vehicle operates on the coast or in regions where it can suffer the action of salt or sand, it must be completely washed with water and neutral soap after use.

3- Spray the lower part of the vehicle only with vegetable oils, however, it is necessary to protect the hoses of the brake system and other rubber parts when doing so.

We would like to provide you with guidance on the use of carpets with wood print from the supplier Gerflor. The option of this type of carpet requires greater care and maintenance related to water exposure. These materials receive a transparent film on their surface whose function is to protect the print and increase resistance to wear and tear.

A whitish patch appearance on the carpet may appear in the event of long exposure to stagnant water, under or over the coating. This staining aspect is reversible and does not alter its technical characteristics in any way. The carpet returns to its normal appearance after being exposed to the sun or another heat source. To speed up this drying process, it is suggested to use a thermal blower at a minimum distance of 10 cm, with a temperature between 50°C and 150°C

BASIC MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Remove particles and dust with an industrial vacuum cleaner;
  • Wash the carpet with water and neutral liquid detergent;
  • Avoid using a high-pressure water appliance;
  • Avoid stagnant water for long periods;
  • If you use runners or mats on the carpet, it is important for them to be dry.
